“You are not here to be perfect. You are here to embrace how perfect you already are.”
I think most of us who have begun any sort of psychological or spiritual growth journey, have strived for perfection ~ even if we haven’t been totally aware that’s the prize. But aiming for perfection misses the mark in so many ways. We set ourselves up for ‘failure’ over and over again ~ because ultimately we are human and imperfection is the human experience.
As I work with clients in the ‘shadowlands’ it becomes obvious that all that lies in shadow within us will not be coaxed out in to the light through a search for perfection, but through an acceptance of our humanity, our vulnerability and humility. We accept that there are parts of us that struggle daily to find a worthy place within us and we make room for them ~ not so that they can rule, but so that they can take a seat at the inner table.
This is wholeness and wholeness is never ‘perfect’, it is only whole and undivided.
When we walk towards wholeness rather than perfection, our body, our mind, our heart and our spirit begin to breathe, begin to move deeper into the innate joy that comes with embrace and acceptance.
And as you embrace all of who you are and bring that YOU to the world, you will be made whole … not perfect… but whole!
